Afghan refugee finds home in Charlottesville

Home is how Rahimullah Nishat describes Charlottesville. “I’m not going anywhere,” said Nishat. But it hasn’t always been that way. “When I first got here everything was different to me,” he said.
He came from Afghanistan in 2017 but with the help of the Charlottesville nonprofit International Neighbors as well as the Charlottesville Afghan community, he says he’s found his place.
